A Note of Gratitude

It is with great emotion I am writing this post to announce that we have reached the goal for our first Annual Appeal! The reality is YOU have reached, and in fact surpassed our goal, and we are so grateful. I am pleased to announce that we have raised over $45,000 before the November 30th deadline!
It all started with the most generous donation from our friends and longtime supporters Alan and Patricia Bickell. Motivated in part by their offer to match all donations received before the end of November, we launched our campaign with determination and optimism.
Every donation you sent meant much more than the dollar amount, it was a marker of your appreciation, your trust, and the amazing global community we have built over the past 20 years. I am overwhelmed by the love you have shown to us and to the children of the Himalayas.
Years ago when I signed the very first note to our very first sponsor, Welcome to the HYF family, it was merely a dream of the community we might someday have. I never thought it would one day be the family you showed me today. The family that sticks together through crisis and challenge, and cares for the Kailash children as their own children - with compassion, forgiveness, support, and pride.
In a year marked with global turmoil, heartache and stress, I look at the smiles on the faces of the children at Kailash, and I see hope.
I witness the future. I feel love. This optimism would not be possible without you.
We are immensely grateful for you, and every donor and sponsor around the world who reads this message today. Your commitment and generosity —especially as we come to the end of this historic year — is a true manifestation of the spirit of the holiday season.
